MEET THE BAND

Formed in 2010, the Eastern Hellbenders are a group of professional musicians who came together over their mutual love of alternative and classic rock music.  Influenced by the current popular acoustic/folk/alternative bands dominating the radio today and the classic rock hits of the past, Eastern Hellbenders strive to play music in its purest form.  You'll hear some of the most excellent music recorded in the last 40 years during their sets, from classic rock songs of the 70s to the 00s and current alternative hits.

Kara DeLucia & Donna DeLucia - Lead Vocals.  Kara and Donna are a unique mother/daughter duo whose harmonies have a warmth that can only be returned to their familial bond.  Kara's soulful and standout contralto voice sets the tone for the band's indie sound; she has been singing professionally since she was 14.  She is a 2018 graduate of Drexel University, where she earned a Minor degree in Voice and a major B.S. Degree in Arts/Media Management.  Kara was a vocalist for the Drexel Jazz Orchestra and her project "The Kara Carmella Band" & "Baepsae."  Donna has sung professionally for tri-state area rock bands since the 1980s.  She was a lead singer for the popular country/rock group "Bandito"  and then the classic rock band "Prankster."   She toured with the "Wizards of Winter" as a backup singer for their 2015 season and, more recently, is one of the lead singers for the Crosby/Stills/Nash tribute band "Wooden Ships."

Jeff Ganis - Lead & Rhythm Guitar.  Jeff got his professional start playing with a popular, original music band in Connecticut called “Batteries Not Included.”  When he relocated to New Jersey in the late 90s, he was one of the founding members of the classic rock band “Prankster,” and continues to play lead guitar for them to date.

Johanna Miele - Bass & Vocals.  Johanna has performed with classic rock and oldies bands on Long Island and New Jersey for the last 30 years.  Johanna is a busy lady!  In addition to the Eastern Hellbenders, she is a lead singer of the Crosby/Stills/Nash tribute band "Wooden Ships" and a lead vocalist for "Break Even."   Before moving to Flemington, NJ, from Long Island, she played keyboards for doo-wop groups and oldies bands.

Alan Tofig - Mandolin/Banjo/Dobro and Guitar.  Alan was a founding member of the local favorite PA band, "Well-Strung."  He is a lead singer and plays dobro/guitar/mandolin for his newest musical venture, "The Accidental Brothers."

Zach Romano - Percussion.  Having played for over 25 years, Zach's influences include Marc Quinones (of the Allman Brothers Band) and Mickey Hart (of The Grateful Dead).  He has played with great local artists such as “Walnut Street,” "Ten Foot Tall Band" and "What the Funk."

Jeff Montross - Keyboards.  Jeff’s professional debut was as a church organist at the age of 14. In 2007, he was a founding member of the classic rock band “String Theory,” and after moving to Morris County, NJ, in 2008, he became a member of Roadside Panic, The Brass Roots, and JLT Allstars. He plays with The Razz Brothers Band and recently performed as a studio musician for several local bands looking to add keys to their original recordings. Jeff adds a variety of piano, organ, synthesizer, and a host of other sounds that help extend the band’s musical repertoire.
